Pietro Mattioli – Celestino Piatti: dtv sonderreihe

For more than 30 years, Swiss designer Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) endowed the covers of books published by Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag dtv with a singular look. With more than 6300 covers to his credit, amounting collectively to a total of 200 million volumes, Piatti was one of the most productive designers of all time. Concentrating on the years 1960 to 1990, this volume shows a large number of outstanding book covers that confirm Piatti’s creative diversity. The selection is complemented by hitherto unpublished designs and advertising material from the dtv archives.
