This artist's book presents the research findings from Nicholas Mangan's latest major body of work, Some Kinds of Duration. The Melbourne-based artist investigates the links between a series of seemingly disparate objects and structures -- the now decommissioned Pyrmont incinerator in Sydney, an example of Mayan architecture in Uxmal (The House of the Governor), and an outdated Canon photocopier -- teasing out architectural, thematic and philosophical resonances between each of the structures and objects. The book is an extension of Mangan's project and a supplement to an exhibition that was held at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in 2012. Thanks to local publisher 3-Ply.
122 pages, 25 x 18 cm, softcover, 3-Ply (Melbourne).
