Dive Dark Dream Slow is an artist book by photographer Melissa Catanese. Catanese -- who along with Ed Panar runs celebrated book platform Spaces Corners in Pittsburg -- was given access to Peter J. Cohen's vernacular photography collection, a staggering archive containing more than 20,000 images, which provided the foundations for this book. Revolving around found imagery and snapshots, Catanese teases out a narrative that is both strange, poetic and compelling. Beautifully published by The Ice Plant (Los Angeles), it's little wonder Dive Dark Dream Slow has topped several photobook lists in the last couple of years.
