Katja Mater - Multiple Densities

Multiple Densities presents the work of visual artist Katja Mater, who constructs images by layering multiple moments in time. This publication examines the artist's process of making a drawing or an object, using different exposures made on the same photographic negative at various points in time, physically building up an image in a cross-exchange of visual information between subject, object and film.Mater's elaborate practice results in dense, abstracted works which depict vaguely textured geometric forms.
