The Story

New York-based photographer Fumi Nagasaka presents Marching Wolves, a personal project and photographic collection. On a trip to New Orleans in 2017, she caught the performance by school band Saint Paul’s Marching Wolves at the Mardi Gras Festival. Greatly inspired by their energy and style, she reached out to band director Andrew Moran, who agreed to let her photograph the band during Mardi Gras 2017, 2018 and 2020. Nagasaka provides a specific view of American youth culture with this book, and also has other photography books with similar subjects published. She was born and raised in Nagoya Japan, before moving to the United States in 2002.

120 pages, 22 x 28 cm, hardcover, KAHL Editions (London).
