This extensive volume surveys the work of Berlin Based artist Alicja Kwade (b. 1979). Stunningly produced and published by Distanz (Berlin), Materia Prima includes installations, objects and photographs, which capture the process of philosophical thought taking a concrete form. The book includes an introduction by the art historian Eveline Suter and essays by Kwade's mother Elisabeth Kwade and author Rafael Horzon.
